This is one of the finest concert bands in the world, and the selection if from their album of holiday music titled Light One Candle. It features their chorus, the Singing Sergeants and four of their soloists.


Take Me Home For Christmas

Many euphoniums and tubas that have a 3+1 valve setup (where the 4th valve is played with the left hand) have a locking mechanism for the 4th valve to keep it down while it is in the case. I have seen these adjusted so that they hold the valve down too tightly. If that is the case, the felt pad under the valve button becomes compressed after just a short time. Then, when you press the valve down hard while playing, you get a metallic sound because the felt is no longer resilient enough.
