There are many reasons to want to convert old recordings on reel-to-reel tape, cassette, LP Records, etc. into a digital format (i.e CD or MP3). Many of my older recordings on tape are starting to fail. The coating is flaking off some and some are jamming. Also, I would like to listen to my old LP's on my new equipment or in the car. So I have been copying some of them to digital format on my computer, and then burning them to CD.
